All along Teri & I have been promising people we’d release the Advanced Twitter Marketing System Case Study”, detailing the creation, tactics and results achieved by the Captain Affiliate beta test – and it’s finally ready for downloading!

Free Download: Advanced Twitter Marketing Case Study

For those who have been watching the Advanced Twitter Marketing System evolve, you’ll remember that the intent was to find a way to reduce the time marketers had to spend at Twitter to achieve success, while finding ways to increase the targeting of their Twitter followers WITHOUT the risk of spamming the system or the users.

The Captain Affiliate (@CaptnAffiliate) account was created to allow us to test and tweak our system before releasing it to the inital beta-testers, and even we were surprised at how well that initial testing went. Even better, the results were then duplicated, and in some instances surpassed, by the beta testers. (Reference their testimonials here and here.)

And now, finally, we’ve had a chance to compile the information, along with the screen captures, into the Advanced Twitter Marketing Case Study. And to make it even more valuable to Internet marketers and affiliates, we’ve even included a copy of the squeeze page and download page so you can add your own opt-in form and distribute the case study from your own sites to build your opt-in lists… See? We told you it would be worth the wait!

So go ahead and download your free case study now, read it to help you make more money marketing on Twitter and distribute it to build your lists and make more money with your e-mail marketing – a nice profitable double-barrelled attack, don’t you think? Knew ya would! ;-)

Affiliate marketing on Twitter, or anywhere else for that matter, has certain techniques and tactics that make one more successful than other affiliates. For example, affiliates following the Advanced Twitter Marketing System are going to do better than those following common Twitter operating practices.

But what many people forget is that affiliate marketing, and all Internet marketing in general, is a business – and like any business, you’ll never get more out of it without putting more into it! Unsuccessful affiliates look to the super-affiliates and figure either they’re just lucky or they have some secret trick they use…

Well, truth is they do have a trick – but it’s no secret. It’s called hard work! Far too many would-be affiliates fail because they either don’t put in the effort it takes for successfull affiliate marketing, or they are putting in effort, but with no discipline to keep them on track and avoiding time-wasting and commission-shrinking activities.

Let me demonstrate a perfect example – the launch of the Advanced Twitter Marketing System. The product launched 1 week ago today, and 12 affiliates have sales there in that week. Mike Paetzold is in first place, followed closely by Joel Osborne – and they’re both far well ahead of the other 10 affiliates.

Now the playing field started out level – all of the Team Champigny affiliates had access to the Advanced Twitter Marketing affiliate resources. All of those with sales so far have been blogging it, tweeting it, some have put buttons and banners on their sites or blogs and others mailed it to their e-zine lists. Some of the affiliates behind Mike & Joel are newbies, while others are pros with bigger lists and more experience. They both have other sites, products and affiliate programs they promote, so it’s not that they have more time available – although both ARE full-time Internet marketers.

Based on all of that, they should be about middle of the pack, right? So what shot these two to the lead right off the bat and kept them there? How did they achieve super-affiliate results with their promos to date? BOTH TOOK THE EXTRA STEP TO BE SURE THEY SUCCEEDED IN THEIR AFFILIATE EFFORTS!!! Rather than just settle for the same amount of effort the others put in, and settle for the same income as the others, both went one step beyond what any of the others has done so far!

What type of extra effort does it take to lead in affiliate programs? Here’s what they did to pull out in front: Mike Paetzold held a teleseminar where he interviewed me about the Advanced Twitter Marketing System and then opened up the lines for a callers’ Q&A session, and made the replay available here. Joel Osborne recorded an interview on the subject and made it available here, then also recorded an affiliate video and put it online at YouTube. Each also created related bonuses to give away to those buying the Advanced Twitter Marketing System through theit links.

The results speak for themselves – Mike and Joel pulled well ahead of the pack the very first week out of the starting gate, and created resources that will continue to build their response as time goes on. They used Twitter & their e-zines to get sales started immediately, followed up with their recordings for both instant and long-term sales and used blog posts the same way. As a result, they’ve made more affiliate commissions from the Advanced Twitter Marketing launch than any of the other affiliates.

So the next time you see some super-affiliate buying another house, another sports car or another yacht, instead of being envious or figuring they’re just lucky, remember Mike and Joel – and how with not much extra effort they pulled ahead – just because they DID put that extra effort in. If you want the great perks that affiliate marketing affords the super-affiliates, watch what Mike and Joel do and be just like them – successful!

Willie Crawford, one of the most famous and successful marketers in the Internet marketing industry, has had a chance to read and implement the strategies in the Advanced Twitter Marketing System and has sent us his Advanced Twitter Marketing Review:

Hi Doug,

Just finished reading Advanced Twitter Marketing and wanted to THANK YOU!

You answered “the million dollar question” of how to market on Twitter without offending those not interested in your niche or products. Since I am online largely to spread the word about what I do, I did want to use Twitter for that purpose too but struggled with how to do that. You laid out a nice step-by-step blueprint on exactly how to do that.

I’m already implementing what you taught.

Thank you for also pointing out some excellent resources that I didn’t know about AND for providing step-by-step instructions on how to make the best use of them.

You blueprint and your timesaving tips will make my time spent on Twitter many times more productive. That’s one of the things that I struggled with since TWitter is so addictive. Thanks for telling me how to handle that.

The Advanced Twitter Marketing System, the latest release from Doug Champigny, has just launched amidst much fanfare at http://www.AdvancedTwitterMarketing.com/system/. Already a recognized Web 2.0 targeted traffic expert (he was the featured Web 2.0 speaker at the Internet Marketing SuperConference in Las Vegas), Champigny has really outdone himself with the release of The Advanced Twitter Marketing System.

The beauty of Twitter is that it has become immensely popular with millions and millions of users – and huge crowds of new folks joining every day. This means the potential for Internet marketing on Twitter and affiliate marketing on Twitter is huge. But in The Advanced Twitter Marketing System, Champigny stresses that you can’t just rush out and spam the Twitter system or it’s users…

Twitter is representative of a broad cross-section of society, albeit that segment of society who are functionally literate and computer/internet users. So for argument’s sake, let’s assume the average Twitter user is better educated and more affluent than one finds in the general population. But the interests and ambitions of Twitter users is just as broad.

With every niche and mainstream area represented on Twitter then, obviously some are good potential clients for Internet marketers and Affiliate marketers, but many – at least half, aren’t. Fortunately the only people who see your tweets on Twitter are those that choose to follow you, so if you could find ways to build a Twitter following within your niche or specialization, and then find those Twitter users who have an interest in what you’re selling, obviously you’d be able to drive traffic with Twitter, build opt-in lists using Twitter and make money on Twitter each day, right? And that’s exactly what The Advanced Twitter Marketing System teaches you to do!

Rather than spinning your wheels, hour after hour, in a futile attempt to covert disinterested people into customers on Twitter, wouldn’t you rather zero in on those already looking for the information or products that you’re selling on Twitter? The Advanced Twitter Marketing System teaches you how to do that in 3 or 4 10-15 minute sessions a day, all the while building a big following on Twitter.

Once you have this powerful e-book with it’s step-by-step tutorial for making money on Twitter, it takes about 2 hours to set your system up, then just those short bursts each day. And best of all, the software, sites and resources in Doug Champigny’s Advanced Twitter Marketing are all free to download, access and use. That’s right – after a small investment to get the book and learn the system, you’ll be driving targeted traffic to your websites, blogs and affiliate links for free for as long as the Twitter site stays as it is – years, hopefully!

If you’ve been trying to make money on Twitter, or thinking about getting into any form of marketing on Twitter, do yourself a big favour and download Doug Champigny’s Advanced Twitter Marketing System right now!

If you are an online business owner, your first priority after developing your product or service is to find the people that will make your business a success. Marketing your online business is a huge task and Twitter can help in that regard, both from a customer service viewpoint and from developing an advanced Twitter marketing strategy.

By now you should have developed a plan for marketing your business – or you are in the process of doing so, right? It probably includes article marketing, blog marketing, social network marketing and viral marketing. In the social network marketing section, ou should focus mostly on Twitter.

Twitter is more than just a site for keeping up with the minute details of everyday life. Sure, you’ve heard that celebrities and others twitter about their dinner plans, vacations and pop culture – but those same people might be interested in hearing from you about your online business.

Twitter is a micro-blogging platform. You can use it to talk to anyone who wants to listen – about any subject that interests you both. It is a quicker way to get people interested in new product offerings, contests, prize giveaways and more. Twitter is free to use so you should post a link to your Twitter account on your business website, blogs, correspondence and business cards – even in your e-mail signature.

One thing that is hard to keep up with is customer service. Providing timely customer service is the key to customer loyalty and increased sales. It is hard to manage e-mail accounts when you are trying to market your online business and fill orders – and that’s IF the e-mail ever arrives in the first place!

As an alternative, turn to Twitter. When a customer posts a customer service question you can reply or direct them to different areas of your website quickly. Instead of sticking by the telephone or incurring the costs of an answering service (especially for small businesses), connect with your customers from your PC, your laptop or even your cell phone.

The Twitter platform is favourable for real-time communication with a group of people or one person at a time. Twitter allows you to send out new product information to your customer list instantly. Your customers can tweet back or follow the link in your tweet to the website or blog page with the new products.

You can use various Twitter tools to make your business account easier to manage, too. Applications such as TweetDeck, Twitterfeed, Twhirl and TrackThis can be used to manage business groups, get tweet notifications, send draft tweets to all of your customers, track packages and/or backup all business communication on Twitter.

Keep communication easy and quick for your customers with Twitter and watch your business relationships, and your profits, soar. In no time, you’ll wonder how you ever did business before implementing your advanced Twitter marketing and customer service operations.

Twitter was launched in the market in 2006 and in the past few years, it showed extreme growth. In fact, last February 2009, the site ranked third next to MySpace and FaceBook. Many business owners are now utilizing the site to promote their business. However, a lot of them don’t know how to maximize the site to their advantage via Advanced Twitter Marketing.

Today we look at some advanced Twitter marketing for small businesses:

1) You can use Twitter for your market research quite successfully. Every business has its target market. Through Twitter, you can easily access your target market and get useful feedback from them. Many of today’s business owners fail because they don’t know the true wants and needs of their target market. With the help of social networking sites like Twitter, FaceBook, etc, you can easily listen to the needs of your prospects, the issues they are currently facing and the kind of help they want from you.

These pieces of information are vital to your business. You can create blog posts or write articles addressing the needs of your particular target market. You can also create a new service to meet such needs or perhaps you can conduct a teleseminar or webinar on a topic that you find out is of interest to your target market.

2) Use Twitter to build a targeted op-in e-mail list. Once you have your list, you can share your information via your e-zine newsletter, or turn it into a free report for your prospects to download. You don’t need to promote your business every time you communicate with your target market but be sure to mention it every now and then, providing links to your business’ online presence, your downloadable reports, e-zine sign-up page, etc.

3) Whenever you meet someone new on Twitter, try to establish a good relationship with them. You are a customer too – you buy from people who you trust and like. Your target market also behaves the same way. You must get to know your clients better and win their trust and confidence. Make sure the bulk of your tweets contain helpful information geared to your market’s needs and aspirations. By doing so, you can attract more prospects, subscribers and sales.

4) Learn how to create blogs. In order to show your expertise in the business, you need to post good related content to your blog(s) regularly. Be sure to use the Tweet My Blog plugin to let your Twitter followers know each time you put a new post on your blogs.

5) Hold informative teleseminars and webinars, and use Twitter to invite listeners, guests and participants. For maximum results, spend 30-40 minutes providing helpful information, open up the lines for questions for 10-15 minutes, then use the last 5 minutes or so to pitch your products or services. If the call was beneficial to your prospects, you’ll see immediate results.

Studying your target market is obviously very important for your business success. Identify their needs and wants so that you can be their solution. Remember, you must try to build trust and confidence. Twitter has millions of users from all over the world, including your local vicinity – just imagine how many of them you can get to patronize your business by mastering advanced Twitter marketing!

Twitter is not just for fun but can also be used much like other social networking media to gain more targeted traffic – an important part of any marketing, and a specialty of Twitter marketing. In this case, you want to attract more targeted blog traffic. Twitter can be a big help with that.

Like other social networks, millions of people use Twitter. It is a micro-universe of potential visitors just waiting to be tapped. The question is how to get them to take a look at you.

First of all, sign up for an account. You can’t find the right people unless you get in the game. Target your Twitter marketing right from the start – look for followers in your particular niche.

Next, get involved. Read other people’s tweets; join as a follower for popular tweeters. You can use Twitter applications to track the tweets of others and also do keyword searches for interesting tweets. Comment on current tweets and get a feel for how it works and who everyone is following.

The best thing about Twitter is that it works in real time from your PC. You can ask questions to find out any type of information. If you are looking for followers interested in gardening (if that is the niche you’re marketing to), pose the question in a tweet and wait for responses. You’ll be surprised what you hear back.

Posing questions is one way to find suitable traffic for your blog. You want more visitors but the kind of visitors who are likely to come back and buy from you if you are selling a product. It is a research tool that returns immediate results.

More Twitter Marketing advice…

There are a few things to observe. In your tweets, use keywords. It might be hard with so few characters, but you want to include searchable words that anyone will enter into a Twitter search engine to find your tweets.

Use the site to find others with similar business interests or to pose interesting views and get feedback. Link to your blog regularly, and for advanced Twitter marketing use the free TweetMyBlog plugin to send a tweet with a link to your latest post each time you post to your blog.

It takes time to build up a following of followers on Twitter just like any other social networking site. The plus with Twitter is that the results are more immediate that with other social sites, making it easy to instantly guage and adjust your twitter marketing strategies. Find the targeted visitors you are after with a few questions and then join in the twittering to build a rapport that translates into more traffic.

All kinds of businesses and work-at-home marketers are now on Twitter. Even technical writers are now using the social network to promote their documentation services. Once you have your own Twitter account, you should design a background that’s appropriate for your Twitter marketing activities.

When you create your profile page on Twitter, a default background is often given to you. If you want to create substantial impact for your business, you should use custom-designed backgrounds. It is an effective way of generate more traffic to your marketing websites, blogs and/or affiliate links.

How can you design a Twitter background for your business?

What kind of information do you want to convey to Twitter users? You need to choose the right information, palette, and color for the sidebar. You can see the background next to the message column. The image does not contain image maps and so you can’t insert HTML links. Once you switch the image, the default background is changed.

For a more professional and cleaner look (for those who want to use Twitter as a marketing tool), don’t include any tiling for the image – make it big enough that it doen’t have to repeat.

There are image editing programs that you can use like Photoshop that allows you to save in GIF or JPG format. You need to create a large image that can occupy the computer screen but without tiling. A rectangle of 1680 pixels x 1200 pixels is just right. If this size is not enough to cover the whole screen, you can increase the size by making it longer or wider.

For your information bar, you can line up your images or photos, business info, and website; this bar can be found on the upper left of the background image. It can also include your name, job title, blog URL, specialty, social network URL, and other important information. For an example, look at the background for Doug Champigny on Twitter.

Try to save everything as image. You can also create much smaller files by saving it ‘for web’ (if you’re using Photoshop). After that, click on the settings and then ‘Design’. Click on the link ‘change background image’. By clicking on ‘browse’, you can now find the image that you’ve previously created. Leave the tile check-box unchecked. Finally, click on ’save changes’. After several seconds, you will have a custom Twitter background image.

Your background on Twitter tells a lot about your personality. If you plan to use Twitter for online marketing, make the background more professional. However, if you’re planning to use Twitter exclusively for making friends and staying connected, make your background more friendly and inviting. Make sure that it suits your image and personality. Cool backgrounds are great for youngsters. There are many editing programs that you can use aside from Photoshop – it’s up to you to choose the best one that can provide the best background ever.

For technical writers and other serious professionals, stick to simple and basic background designs. Having a formal look can also attract formal followers who are serious in their business. Hurry and change your background now. If you have a hard time in following the instructions mentioned earlier, ask someone who has been using Twitter for some time; perhaps some of your friends or relatives know how to edit the background.

Alternately, send a tweet asking for recommendations to a great designer – many do Twitter backgrounds for marketers and online bsinesses at a very reasonable rate. This is your business image we’re talking about – the first thing about you and your business many people will see. Be professional – don’t scrimp on this one!

Twitter backgrounds can be custom made. If you don’t want to use the default background, change the image now. Find an editing program and start making the changes. Choose the information well especially those contained on the information bar.

Be creative and simple to develop a sensible background appropriate to your Twitter marketing goals.

Twitter is an exciting, cool, and extremely profitable social network site. Millions of people are now using the site to talk about various subjects. Indeed, it is a micro-blogging site for those who can’t stop talking. There are also common mistakes that most new users commit on Twitter. Before you start sending tweets, you must be aware of these common newbie mistakes.

Mistake number 1 – the picture on your avatar is not yours. Most new users don’t post their real picture. They often use cartoon pictures, company logos, or their pet’s pictures. Although the pictures are quite cute, most Twitter users will appreciate a real picture of you. When you post your true picture on Avatar, others will think that you’re real and that you’re confident enough to let others see you. If you’re going to upload a photo, choose the ones where you give a beautiful smile. A smile can easily brighten the day of others.

Sending direct messages automatically through the AutoDM; direct messages are often impersonal and pushy. If you send this type of messages, you can lose your followers. When you use these tools, messages are automatically sent to those who follow you. A message saying ‘thanks for following me’ is fine but sending automated messages promoting your business or product is not a good idea until you’ve established yourself on Twitter and most people will just ignore them until then.

Do you have any followers? If you want to have followers, you need to follow people or you can at least create an interesting profile page. You can get followers by regularly posting updates. If you keep on following people and yet you don’t make updates on your page, you won’t get enough followers.

If you see qestions from other tweeters that you can answer with solid, helpful information, be sure to respond to it. Remember that twitter is a 2-way street, and you’d want good answers to your own qestions, right?

Check your numbers regularly. It’s not good to follow many people when you have very few individuals following you. Try to achieve balance. Make sure that the one you follow will also follow you back and you should also appreciate the ones who follow you. This is the easiest way to make progress on Twitter. In general, Twitter will only let you follow up to 10% more people than you have followers, so follow others judiciously.

Use tools like Tweetdeck so that you don’t need to stay online all the time. Through this application, you can divide your followers into groups. Now, you can easily track them especially when they send direct messages and replies.

Above all, keep your tweets polite & G-rated. You must remember to respect others at all times. As you may have forgotten, Twitter is a social network.

You must learn how to communicate and build good relationships to make the most of your Twitter Marketing – when you see good information from others, be sure to ‘retweet’ it so your followers see it too!

These are the common mistakes committed by new and old tweeters. Take note of them and don’t commit the same mistakes.
