I like your idea about spending a few minutes at a time throughout the day on Twitter. It makes it much easier to get what you need done (on and off Twitter), and allows your followers to constantly see messages from you.

Doug, very good Twitter advice in this post. I have found that repeating my posts and varying the title from time to time has added several to my opt-in list. One day I got 15 new subscribers. The Advanced Twitter Marketing system is a very productive method for using Twitter.

I think everyone needs to find their own happy medium and this only comes from tracking what works and what does not. Continue to experiment.

There will always be variations depending on how and what you are promoting and which niche that will decide the ideal numbers.

Thanks Doug,

Still working on trying to just hop on Twitter for a few minutes and then get back off.

It's very easy to get caught up in what you are doing and before you know it 30-45 minutes have gotten by.

I also am still trying to find that balance between too many tweets and not enough. I am currently doing about 5 - 6 when I get on, but also have some automatic posts setup using TweetLater (still trying to determine if this is a good thing or not). Not sure if this will be too much.

I guess only time will tell.

Thanks for another great post and looking forward to the next.

I am just amazed at the way the system has been working. It is definitely something to continue work on. All I thought I knew has been thrown out and I am starting fresh. There is still more to be learned from Advanced Twitter Marketing System and may even require a re-reading of the book to see what I missed. Thanks.

There's no doubt that Twitter has eaten into the time I should be spending on other things, I have only gotten one article posted on eZines in the past few weeks, despite having created multiple blog posts that could be easily converted into articles. Now that I have learned from your advanced twitter marketing eBook what to do, I have more lists each of which requires some time. But I am now getting better at keeping that time in check and doing as you suggest and posting at different times during the day.
I've found the techniques that Mike Paetzold recommends to be useful way to get better material to my lists.

But the remaining question I have is how many different posts to send to the list at one time. I typically am sending 3-8. sometimes all Google news items, other times a mix of affiliate sales. My theory is that when sent in a block its more likely to get some attention, but also looks more like spam. What do you think?

Earl Netwal’s last blog post..Twitter Tactics For Marketers

That's a tough question Earl - I guess the only way to know for sure is to try different numbers of consecutive tweets and see which gets you the best response. Like you, I typically send 3-8 or even 10 in a session, but some in the middle are always retweets and/or answers to specific tweets.

Try a couple of days sending 3 per session with your power tweet last each time, a couple of days with 5 per session, and a couple with 8, and then compare the results you got each day.
Would love to have you stop back and share with us what you find from it, if you would...

Thanks,

Doug Champigny.
